Texas Tech’s women’s golf team fell to the University of Tulsa 3-2 in the Red Raider match play finale on Monday after starting the event with a pair of Sunday wins over Oklahoma University and No. 3 Oklahoma State University.

Ludvig Aberg, a junior golfer for the Texas Tech men’s golf team was one of 30 collegiate golfers to be named to the 2022 Ben Hogan Award watchlist by the Hogan Trophy Award Foundation, Friends of Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America, according to Tech Athletics.

Texas Tech’s golf team will enter the final round of the Mercedes-Benz Invitational within reach of a team title, according to Texas Tech Athletics. On Monday’s tournament, which was hosted by the University of Tennessee, the Red Raiders combined to shoot 6-over-par over two rounds.

Following the end of the Fall 2020 golf season, senior Kyle Hogan and sophomore Ludvig Aberg have been named to The Fred Haskins Award Watch List. The list is made up of 20 NCAA athletes from across the nation. The list also includes players from Oklahoma, Texas, SMU, Arizona State and Vanderbilt.

On Tuesday, redshirt senior Kyle Hogan finished first place at the Maridoe Collegiate Invitational in Carrollton, Texas, after posting a final round score of 73 (+1), per golfstat.com. This is Hogan’s first collegiate victory coming off of not qualifying for the team’s first two events.
