Texas Tech sophomore Cara Barker hits it out of the sand bunker during the NCAA Lubbock Regional. The regional tournament took place in the Rawls golf course at 8 a.m. on Monday, May 8th, 2017.

The Texas Tech woman’s golf team proved to be victorious as it defeated UC Irvine 3-1-1 in the final round of the Lamkin Invitational on Wednesday, March 27, in San Diego California. 

Sophomore Sofia Garcia paved the way for the Red Raiders, carding four birdies and seven pars to a 8 and 6 win over her competitor, according to Texas Tech Athletics. 

Senior Mami Yamamoto also clenched a point for the Red Raiders, winning her match with a count of 2 and 1.

Anna Dong captured the Red Raiders' final point with a count of 4 and 3, according to Tech Athletics, her second match play win of the Lamkin Invitational. 

The Red Raiders head to Dallas next to compete in the Bruzzy Challenge, hosted by UNT, from Monday, April 1, to Tuesday, April 2.
