Texas Tech baseball's infielder Josh Jung made things official with the Texas Rangers after signing for $4.4 million on Wednesday, confirming that he will not return for his senior season at Tech.
Jung was the second Red Raider in program history to get drafted in the first round with as he was taken with the No. 8 overall pick. With his signing for $4.4 million, Jung will make slightly less than his pick value of $5,176,900.
In his junior season with Tech, Jung posted a .343 batting average with 82 hits, according to Tech Athletics. Jung also racked up 58 RBI and 15 home runs as he led the team with 23 doubles and 65 runs scored.
