The Red Raiders will welcome Baylor to Jones AT&T Stadium for their first matchup in Lubbock since 2008. In that game, the Mike Leach led, 11-1, Red Raiders won 35-28 behind 309 passing yards (41/50) from Graham Harrell. At the time, Tech was ranked No. 7 in the nation.

On Monday, Texas Tech football’s starting running back SaRodorick Thompson was arrested, according to KLBK. He was arrested with cause after a street racing incident earlier this year. Records show that he faces a Class B misdemeanor charge.

On Monday, the Big 12 announced the start time for the game between Texas Tech and Kansas State football. The game will be played at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 3, as the Red Raiders will travel to Manhattan, Kansas, to face the Wildcats. The match can be watched on FS1.

On Tuesday, Texas Tech Athletics announced the completion of 1,382 total COVID-19 tests between student-athletes, coaches and staff. There have been 64 total positive cases, and of those cases, 24 remain active, including 21 within the Red Raider football program, per Tech Athletics.
