Jarret Culver NBA Announcement

Jarret Culver declares for the NBA draft on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 3 p.m. in the United Supermarket Arena. Culver shares his basketball career with the Texas Tech fans.

In the 2019 NBA Draft on Thursday, June 20, former Texas Tech sophomore guard Jarrett Culver was selected at 6th overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves, via the Phoenix Suns.

Culver follows former teammate Zhaire Smith as a first round selection, who was selected in last year's draft by the Phoenix Suns at 16th overall before being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers later that night.

In his sophomore season at Texas Tech, Culver played a pivotal part in taking Tech to its first National Championship appearance, where the Red Raiders fell just short of Virginia in overtime. As a sophomore, Culver led the Red Raiders in scoring with 18.5 points per game.
