In a memorandum sent out by the Office of the President of Texas Tech, it was announced Elizabeth Sharp will be the interim vice president for diversity, equity & community engagement.
Sharp is currently an associate chair and associate professor of Human Development and Family Studies within the College of Human Sciences, according to the memo. She is also affiliated with Tech’s Women’s Studies program.
Along with being a well-published researcher, Sharp was also the chair person ,for two years starting in 2011, of the Feminism and Family Studies section of the National Council on Family Relations, according to the memo. Sharp was also a visiting scholar in the School of Applied Social Sciences at Durham University in England.
Sharp is also replacing the outgoing vice president of that position, Juan Munoz, who has left Tech to be the president of the University of Houston-Downtown.
