Tech encourages Native American enrollment during summer program

Texas Tech University became a little more diverse this week. Tech hosted the Native American Summer Bridge Institute, which is a program that introduces incoming high school juniors that are of Native American heritage to life on a university campus. The main goal of the institute is to aid Native American students in understanding they can attend college and graduate, said Jobi Martinez, director of the Cross Cultural Academic Advancement Center.

It was a quick and painless checkup at the clinic - Texas Tech's annual car clinic, that is. Students, faculty and local residents lined up for free fluids, parts and battery checks done by Scott's Complete Car Care on Wednesday at a parking lot on campus.
