Tech School of Law inaugurates new addition

The Texas Tech University School of Law introduced the completion of the Mark and Becky Lanier Professional Development Center with a visit from the Texas Supreme Court Tuesday. The 34,560-square-foot center, named for Mark and Becky Lanier, who donated $6 million for the building, features an auditorium and a courtroom for students to practice advocacy skills, according to a Tech news release.

University recognizes faculty at convocation

Texas Tech officially recognized its faculty Tuesday afternoon at the 2008 Faculty Honors Convocation in room 169 of the Human Sciences Building. In his opening remarks, Tech's Chancellor Kent Hance told faculty members they were the "lifeblood" of the university.

Butt-sketch artists to visit Tech, draw conclusions

Don't look now, but somebody soon may be checking out your rear end; there are no ifs, ands or "butts" about it. The Tech Activities Board will host a butt-sketch artist between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. today near the information desk in the Student Union Building.

Three students issued criminal trespass warnings

April 18 One vehicle was towed because of the damage it sustained in a traffic accident in the C-1 parking lot. There were no injuries. An officer investigated a theft at the Wiggins Dining Hall in which an employee's wallet was stolen from the kitchen area.
