Police explain 'active shooter' policies

The Texas Tech Police Department released a set of guidelines for university employees and students in the event of an active shooting on campus, encountering armed subjects as well as handling potentially disruptive individuals on campus. The "active shooting" guidelines inform the Tech community about police response policies and how to be safe, while "disruptive individuals" guidelines offer information about how to act and keep calm around a potentially dangerous person.
Burkhart Center recognizes Autism Awareness Month

Texas Tech's Burkhart Center for Autism Education and Research is recognizing Autism Awareness in April by raising money and educating people about the disease. The Burkhart Center, located on campus in the College of Education Building, has been spreading the word about autism education and research since its opening in 2005.
