Propane tank explodes during RaiderGate, causes minor injuries

Sept. 17

Two students were issued Lubbock County citations at 6:34 a.m. in the Z4-P parking lot for consumption of alcohol by a minor and were released, pending the filing of charges for public intoxication for one of the students.

A non-student was arrested at 8 a.m. in the 3100 block of 18th Street for driving with an invalid license. The non-student was transported to the Lubbock County jail.

Two officers investigated a report of telephone harassment at 12:09 p.m. in the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center Preston Smith Library.

An officer investigated criminal mischief to a vehicle at 12:30 p.m. in the C2 parking lot in which the hood of the vehicle was scratched.

Two officers investigated a hit-and-run accident at 9:25 p.m. in the R-5 parking lot in which a vehicle struck an unoccupied vehicle.

Sept. 18

An officer documented a medical call at 1:41 p.m. outside the Student Union Building in which a student fell. The student was transported to the University Medical Center emergency room.

An officer documented information about a dispatch call at 4:52 p.m. at the University Parking Services main office in which a student altered a Texas Department of Transportation ADA placard.

Sept. 19

An officer investigated theft at 11:10 a.m. in the Biology building in which a wireless mouse was taken from a room in the building.

An officer documented a set of missing keys at 11:55 a.m.

Two officers investigated criminal mischief at 5:56 p.m. in the Z6-A parking lot in which a vehicle was keyed.

A student was arrested at 8:45 p.m. in Murdough Residence Hall for possession of marijuana and possession of alcohol by a minor. The student was transported to the Lubbock County jail.

A non-student was arrested at 9 p.m. in the Tech Plaza parking lot for criminal trespass. The non-student was issued another criminal trespass warning and was transported to the Lubbock County jail.

Sept. 20

An officer documented information on a reported terroristic threat at 11:03 a.m. in Weymouth Residence Hall in which the female student said her life was threatened on the telephone by an unknown person.

An officer responded to a medical call at 5 p.m. in the Z6-B parking lot in which a propane tank exploded causing minor injuries to a person.

A student was arrested at 6:11 p.m. at gate six of Jones AT&T Stadium for consumption of alcohol by a minor. The student was transported to Lubbock County jail.

Three non-students were arrested during the football game for public intoxication and transported to the Lubbock County jail.

Eighteen students were arrested during the football game for public intoxication and transported to the Lubbock County jail.

An officer investigated theft at 10:30 p.m. in the Music building in which a debit card was reported stolen from a locker.

Sept. 21

An officer investigated burglary of a vehicle at 2:45 a.m. in the Z6-B parking lot in which sunglasses were reported stolen from the vehicle. The vehicle also was vandalized.

A non-student was arrested at 9:04 a.m. in the 2600 block of Fourth Street for driving while intoxicated with an open container in the vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, citations for no liability insurance and driving with an invalid license. The non-student was transported to the Lubbock County jail pending the filing of charges for possession of a dangerous drug and possession of prohibited weapons.

A non-student was arrested at 9:22 a.m. in the C-16 parking lot for driving while intoxicated with an open container in the vehicle. The officer was conducting a welfare check in the grass area near the parking lot. The non-student was transported to the Lubbock County jail.

An officer investigated a hit-and-run accident at 1:08 p.m. in the Z4-R parking lot.

An officer investigated an accident at 5:25 p.m. in the 1800 block of Flint Avenue. No injuries were reported.

A student was arrested at 5:39 p.m. in Stangel Residence Hall for consumption of alcohol by a minor and was transported to the Lubbock County jail.

An officer responded to a medical call at 6:34 p.m. at the Tech Recreation Fields in which a student broke his arm. The student was transported to the UMC emergency room.

Sept. 22

An officer investigated assault at 12:25 p.m. in the Student Union Building in which a husband assaulted his wife, who is a staff member.

An officer investigated theft at 3:36 p.m. in Holden Hall in which a Dell laptop was reported stolen.

The theft of a wallet in the Student Union Building was investigated by an officer at 5:04 p.m.

An officer investigated theft at 7:44 p.m. in Bledsoe Residence Hall in which a skateboard was reported stolen.

An officer investigated theft at 10:10 p.m. in Hulen Residence Hall in which a wallet and keys were reported stolen. The keys were left in the door lock.

Sept. 23

An officer documented a medical call at 10:37 pm. at the Health Sciences Center in which a faculty member passed out and struck his head. The faculty member was transported to the UMC emergency room.

A non-student was arrested at 12:25 p.m. in the Student Union Building for possession of marijuana. The non-student was transported to the Lubbock County jail.

An officer responded to a medical call at 2:21 p.m. in the Student Wellness building in which a student was suffering from a collapsed lung.

An officer investigated an accident at 4:34 p.m. in the R-10 parking lot. No injuries were reported.

An officer investigated theft at 4:50 p.m. in the Health Sciences Center in which a wallet was reported stolen.

Two students were arrested at 5:09 p.m. in Coleman Residence Hall for possession of marijuana.

An officer investigated theft at 8:25 p.m. in the Music building in which several items were reported stolen from a wallet that was inside a backpack.

An officer investigated theft at 8:51 p.m. in the Z4-R parking lot in which a license plate was reported stolen from a vehicle

Sept. 24

An officer investigated criminal mischief at 1:36 a.m. in Murdough Residence Hall in which a person dumped a 55-gallon trash can full water into a room.

An officer investigated theft at 8:20 a.m. in the Music building in which a purse was left in the area backstage and a walled was reported stolen from the purse. The wallet was later found in the men's restroom and a credit card was reported missing from the wallet.

Two officers investigated a hit-and-run accident at 11:30 a.m. in the R-11 parking lot in which a vehicle struck an unoccupied vehicle.

An officer investigated theft at 3:12 p.m. at the north-side bicycle racks at Hulen Residence Hall in which two bicycles and bicycle locks were reported stolen.

Sept. 25

An officer investigated theft at 10:37 a.m. in the Music building in which an instrument bow was reported stolen.

An officer investigated burglary of a vehicle at 11:23 a.m. in the R-1 parking lot in which a parking tag was reported stolen from a vehicle.

Two students were issued Lubbock County citations at 3:47 a.m. in Murdough Residence Hall for consumption of alcohol by a minor and were released. A third student approached officers during the issuing of citations and also was issued a citation for consumption of alcohol by a minor and released.

A student was arrested at 3:48 a.m. in Murdough Residence Hall for public intoxication, evading arrest and fraudulent use or possession of identifying information.
