Non-student found naked in fountain, arrested for public intoxication

Sept. 2

An officer investigated theft at 9:27 a.m. in Memorial Circle in which Texas Tech flags were reported stolen.

An officer investigated theft at 9:30 a.m. in the Z2-D parking lot in which a vehicle cover was reported stolen from a vehicle.

A female had a seizure at 10 a.m. in the Health Sciences Center and was transported to the Covenant Hospital emergency room.

An officer investigated a false alarm at 3:05 p.m. in Chitwood Residence Hall in which a fire extinguisher was set off in the building.

An officer investigated an accident at 3:55 p.m. in the C-11 parking lot. No injuries were reported.

An officer investigated criminal mischief at 4:45 p.m. in Murdough Residence Hall in which a gym bag was damaged.

An officer documented information of a possible theft at 4:47 p.m. in the Barnes and Noble store at the Student Union Building.

An officer investigated an accident at 6:58 p.m. at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and University Avenue. No injuries were reported.

Three students were arrested at 9:46 p.m. in Weymouth Residence Hall for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The students were transported to the Lubbock County Jail.

Sept. 3

Two officers investigated criminal mischief at 8:02 a.m. in the English and Philosophy fountain. The fountain was filled with soap. A laptop, money order and CDs were reported stolen from a vehicle at 11:30 a.m. in the C1-N parking lot. The owner was unsure if the vehicle was secured.

An officer investigated a reported assault at 2:16 p.m. in the Business Administration building.

An officer investigated theft at 2:34 p.m. in the Health Sciences Center in which makeup was reported stolen from a desk.

An officer documented damaged property at 5:12 p.m. in the C-1 parking lot in which a mirror on a vehicle was damaged.

A student was issued a Lubbock County citation at 11:21 p.m. in Murdough Residence Hall for possession of alcohol by a minor. The student was released after receiving the citation.

While an officer was documenting information at 11:50 p.m. in the Architecture building about the theft of a wallet, a custodial worker found the wallet in a men's restroom and brought the wallet to the police department. The victim said no items were missing from the wallet.

Sept. 4

A student was issued a Lubbock County citation at 3:37 a.m. in Murdough Residence Hall for consumption of alcohol by a minor. The student was released after receiving the citation.

Two officers investigated criminal mischief at 3:39 a.m. in Murdough Residence Hall in which 10 ceiling tiles were broken.

An officer investigated burglary of vehicle at 10:32 a.m. in the Z1-B parking lot in which the driver's side window was broken.

An officer investigated theft at 10:45 a.m. on the west side of the Human Sciences building in which a purple and green Mongoose bicycle was reported stolen.

An officer documented a damaged vehicle at 12:46 p.m. in the Z4-R parking lot in which the rear passenger-side quarter panel of the vehicle was damaged.

An officer investigated an accident at 3:17 p.m. in the Wall/Gates Residence Hall parking lot. No injuries were reported.

An officer investigated an accident at 3:43 p.m. in the 600 block of Tech Parkway. No injuries were reported.

An officer investigated theft at 4:09 p.m. at the bicycle racks at the Human Sciences building in which a Next mountain bicycle was reported stolen.

An officer documented information about a dispute between two roommates at 4:32 p.m. in Hulen Residence Hall.

A projector was reported stolen at 4:38 p.m. in the Petroleum Engineering building.

Two students were issued Lubbock County citations at 10:25 p.m. in Coleman Residence Hall for possession of drug paraphernalia. One of the students was released pending the filing of charges for evading arrest or detention and possession of marijuana.

Sept. 5

A student was found unconscious in the first floor women's restroom at 12:28 a.m. in Wall Residence Hall and was transported to the University Medical Center emergency room. The student was released after treatment pending the filing of charges for public intoxication.

An officer investigated criminal mischief at 6:31 a.m. in the English and Philosophy fountain. The fountain was filled with soap.

An officer investigated criminal mischief at 6:40 a.m. in the Broadway Street fountain. The fountain was filled with soap.

An officer investigated criminal mischief at 2:10 p.m. in the 15th and Akron visitor parking lot. The back window on a vehicle was broken.

A wallet and its contents were reported stolen from a purse at 3:25 p.m. in the basement of the Charles E. Maedgen Jr. Theatre.

A non-student was detained at 5:46 p.m. in the 1300 block of Boston Avenue for displaying an inspection certificate assigned to another vehicle. The non-student was released pending the filing of charges with the Lubbock County District Attorney's Office.

Sept. 6

A student was detained at 2:53 a.m. in the Z4-R parking lot for public intoxication. The student was released pending the filing of charges.

A student was arrested at 3:26 a.m. in the R-18 parking lot for public intoxication. The student was transported to the Lubbock County Jail.

A student was issued a Lubbock County citation at 7:46 p.m. in Weymouth Residence Hall for possession of alcohol by a minor. The student was released after receiving the citation.

Sept. 7

A student was arrested at 2:11 a.m. in the 2500 block of 15th Street for driving under the influence of alcohol by a minor. The student was released following the issue of a Lubbock County citation for DUIM and the vehicle was towed and impounded.

Two students were detained at 6:42 a.m. in the Z4-P parking lot. One student was issued a Lubbock County citation for possession of alcohol by a minor and the other student was issued a Lubbock County citation for consumption of alcohol by a minor. Both students were released.

An officer investigated theft at 2:03 p.m. at the north bicycle rack at Hulen Residence Hall in which a bicycle seat was reported stolen.

An officer investigated criminal mischief at 2:40 p.m. in Hulen Residence Hall in which an exterior window was broken. The suspected cause is a shot from a pellet gun, according to the brief.

A non-student was detained at 8:18 p.m. in the C-11 parking lot for assault and interference with an emergency telephone call. The non-student was released pending the filing of charges with the Lubbock County District Attorney's Office.

Sept. 8

An officer investigated a domestic assault at 12:25 a.m. in Clement Residence Hall between two students. The male student was released pending the filing of charges for assault with the Lubbock County District Attorney's Office.

An officer investigated theft at 10:35 a.m. at the bicycle rack at Horn/Knapp Residence Hall in which a Giant mountain bicycle was reported stolen.

An officer investigated theft at 1:34 p.m. in the Architecture building in which three cameras were reported stolen from an unattended room.

An officer investigated theft at 3:30 p.m. in the Music building in which two credit cards and a debit card were reported stolen.

An officer documented unwanted e-mails at 3:50 p.m. in the Business Administration building.

An officer investigated credit card abuse at 3:54 p.m. in the Barnes and Noble store in the Student Union building.

An officer investigated an accident at 5:50 p.m. in the C-15 parking lot in which a vehicle struck an unattended vehicle.

An officer investigated theft at 5:58 p.m. at the bicycle rack at Clement Residence Hall in which a Schwinn mountain bicycle was reported stolen.

An officer investigated an accident at 10:52 p.m. at the intersection of Broadway and Akron Avenue. The accident involved injuries and failure to stop and render aid.

Sept. 9

Two officers investigated theft at 9:14 a.m. in Holden Hall in which a chair was reported stolen.

Two officers investigated an accident at 10:32 a.m. in the C-11 parking lot. No injuries were reported.

A student was arrested for criminal trespass at 12:40 p.m. in the R-3 parking lot. The student was transported to Lubbock County Jail.

A non-student was arrested at 4:48 p.m. in the 2500 block of Broadway Avenue for public intoxication after he was seen naked in the fountains. The non-student was transported to the Lubbock County Jail.

Sept. 10

An officer investigated harassment at 8:52 a.m. in the Health Sciences Center in which unwanted e-mails were received.

A non-student was arrested at 1:25 p.m. for failure to identify, fugitive from justice and an outstanding Texas Crime Information Center warrant. A second non-student was also detained. The non-students were looking into vehicles in parking lots, a report said. They were issued criminal trespass warnings for all Tech property. One of the non-students was released and the other was transported to the Lubbock County Jail.

An officer documented a fire alarm at 1:53 p.m. from the Agriculture Science building. Cotton burs were left in an oven and the Lubbock Fire Department was dispatched to the building.

An officer investigated an accident at 6:56 p.m. in the 1800 block of Flint Avenue. No injuries were reported, but one of the vehicles was towed due to sustained damage.
