Lubbock police arrested a man who was determined a suspect of a robbery from earlier in the day.
Lt. Scott Hudgens of the Lubbock Police Department said a resident called Lubbock police with information about a man matching the description of a robbery suspect at the 7-Eleven in the 2600 block of Avenue Q.
"In situations like this, we first have to make sure the suspect matches the description," Hudgens said.
After the suspect was approached by police, the suspect refused to give police his name, according to reports. The suspect was taken into custody and continued to be uncooperative. Police said the suspect spit inside the patrol car, and the police officer was forced to spend $50 in cleaning and sanitizing the patrol car.
According to reports, the suspect also threatened the police officer's life after he was arrested.
Hudgens said anytime a police officer is threatened, the suspect can face a felony charge of retaliation.
The suspect was arrested for the charges of obstruction or retaliation, failure to identify and criminal mischief.

Lubbock police investigated debit card abuse in the 3200 block of 43rd Street. Police said a victim claimed unknown suspects used his City Bank debit card number several times at different locations without the victim's consent.
March 12
Lubbock police detained a suspect for theft at the United Supermarket in the 400 block of Slide Road. According to reports, the suspect was caught by store personnel attempting to steal Unisom tablets, One a Day tablets and Doam PM tablets from the store. When police arrived, the suspect was given a field citation.

Lubbock police investigated a burglary of a home in the 4300 block of 45th Street. According to reports, a suspect kicked open a back gate of the victim's residence to gain entry into the home. Police said the suspect stole a black Walther 380 handgun worth $300 and a homemade computer with a monitor worth $1,000.
March 10
Lubbock police investigated a burglary of a home in the 2600 block of 31st Street. According to reports, unknown suspects broke into the victim's home by breaking a window and stole a 32-inch LCD flat-screen television worth $1,500. Police said nothing else was reported stolen.
March 9
Lubbock police investigated a vehicle wreck in the 1600 block of 39th Street. Police said an unknown suspect was driving his vehicle when he drove over a curb during a right turn and ran over a stop sign. According to reports, the suspect also ran over a steel-pipe rail and stopped in front of a light pole. The suspect exited his vehicle and fled the scene of the accident in an unknown direction, according to reports. The suspect has yet to be located.

Lubbock police investigated a burglary of a residence in the 1600 block of 16th Street. Police said the suspect broke a window to gain entry and stole a black cell phone worth $40, a jar of pennies worth $4, $413 worth of cash and six miscellaneous prescription medications.
