The West Texas Roller Dollz, ranked 34th in the nation, played two teams Saturday at the Southwest Sportsplex with some success.
The West Texas Roller Dollz B Team beat the Randall County Roller Dames 70-53 during the first bout of the day.
"We clicked as a team and that (game) went off without a hitch," said Mandy Braziel, a 30-year-old from Lubbock who played on the B Team. "It was a matter of teamwork."
During the afternoon, the West Texas Roller Dollz Travel Team, ranked 34th in the nation, challenged the 4th ranked Austin Texacutioners.
"We were in awe watching them," said Braziel, public relations officer for the league, "The girls went out there and did their best."
However, the Austin team earned a victory with a final score of 243-40.
The West Texas Roller Dollz travel team, which consists of 14 of the league's best players, will travel to San Antonio for a bout in March.
